PROTECT YOUR FAMILY & GET YOUR FREE H1N1 FLU VACINATION

Mayor Cicilline announces 2nd round of free H1N1 vaccines on Saturday, February 13th at Juanita Sanchez Educational Complex

PROVIDENCE– Mayor David N. Cicilline announced today that the Providence Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) in partnership with the Rhode Island Department of Health and Rhode Island Hospital will offer another round of free H1N1 Flu Shots to the public on Saturday, February 13th from 10am until 4pm at Juanita Sanchez Educational Complex, 182 Thurbers Avenue.

The Health Department has determined that H1N1 vaccinations offer the best defense for families against the contracting and spreading the virus.  The shots will be provided free-of-charge for anyone 18 years of age or older.  People seeking shots for individuals under 18 are asked to contact their primary care physician.

Participants in the H1N1 clinic are required to complete a standard registration form and answer a few questions regarding allergies and pre-existing medical conditions.

For those unable to attend Saturday’s flu clinic in Providence, the Health Department is coordinating other free public H1N1 vaccination clinics throughout Rhode Island.  Information on the dates and times of those public flu shot clinics can be found on the Health Department website: www.health.ri.gov or contact the Health Department’s H1N1 Information Line at 401-222-8022.
